Navigating Coronavirus with an Anxiety Disorder

Things have definitely taken a turn with COVID-19, and I wanted to use this week’s blog post as an opportunity to, first of all, acknowledge all of the incredibly hardworking people who are working to keep us safe during this time and, second of all, provide some solace for my fellow anxious gals who may be struggling a little more than usual during this time. As someone with a diagnosed anxiety disorder, I can personally say all of this has sent me spiraling. I’m trying to take it day by day and do my part, but my thoughts are a little all-consuming at times. I’m sure most of ours are. ​

​I’ve seen a lot of articles and tips floating around with how to structure your day, manage your time, and be productive during all of this. I’m here to say you can toss all of that out the window if it doesn’t feel good to you. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to dealing with something like this. Stay productive and maintain normalcy if you need to, but you can also stay in your pajamas for two weeks straight and watch every Netflix show known to man if that’s what you need to do, too. Plan your next business venture and map out your life plan...OR completely tune out the world and allow yourself to do some serious self-study. The choice is yours. And every choice is valid. Please don’t feel guilty or ashamed about how YOU choose to deal with all of this. 

Personally, I’m going to not wear makeup and/or a bra until further notice...spend lots of time snuggling my kitties...nourish my body with healthy food...spend some time brainstorming what I want my life to really look like when this all blows over...take my online health coaching classes to ignite and inspire me...and stay home until further notice with my lovely husband. 

Stay safe and stay home, friends. And do whatever you need to do during this time to feel whole. We’ve got this.
